Client's gone. Gloves are off. Let's talk

It’s time for our next round of Nail BAbes: Gloves Are Off, the interview series where we peek behind the polish and talk shop with the artists shaping the F(VEX) universe.

Next up we have Beelo! Magnetic, expressive, and impossible to scroll past. Whether she’s swatching Flex Tint like it’s a spiritual experience or winging a full set straight from vibe alone, there’s an ease and confidence in her content that makes you feel like you can do this, and have fun doing it. She’s a self-taught artist, content creator, a wife and mom of two, bringing big “multi-hyphenate on a mission” energy to every post.

Her nail journey started with drugstore polish and forbidden French tips, and somewhere between late-night swatch sessions and Pedro Pascal thirst traps, she turned self-care into a full-blown creative career.

From bold chromes to soft florals with a twist, there’s always something warm and real behind her sets. She brings a mix of heart, hustle, and hilarious captions that make her one of our favorite voices in the at-home nail world.

Welcome to the stage, Beelo! @beelo.nails

What drew you to the nail world?

Beelo: Honestly? I’ve been a paint-loving, color-obsessed little artist since day one. If it involved creativity, I was in. So naturally, painting my nails felt like the ultimate mini canvas, maybe even more thrilling because I wasn’t allowed to do it as a little girl. Total forbidden fruit vibes.

I’d tag along with my older cousins to the nail salon and just stare, wide-eyed, as the techs whipped up the most perfect French tips like it was nothing. I’d go home, grab my drugstore polish remover and a janky little watercolor brush, and try to recreate the magic. Zero clue what I was doing, but 100% committed to figuring it out.

Fast forward a couple decades and now I’m a wife, a mom of two, and was in desperate need of feeling like me again. (Because let’s be real, mommy needs her nails done, too!) But biweekly nail appointments? Yeah, that wasn’t happening. Time and budget said “no ma’am.”

Then came the game changer: I stumbled on an at-home dip powder kit and boom—instant obsession unlocked. I spiraled, in the best way. It started as self-care but quickly became this full-blown passion. And now? I get to share that obsession with the world as a content creator and brand ambassador for one of the baddest nail brands out there.

This kind of curiosity and commitment hits deep. It’s that DIY spirit (the kind that doesn’t wait for permission) that we see in so many of our favorite creators. Beelo didn’t just find nails… she made them her own, one janky brushstroke at a time.

Any current obsessions?!

Beelo: Absolutely. Rubber base has me in a chokehold. Like, she’s not just a product, she’s a lifestyle. She sculpts, she protects, she saves me time… and honestly? She’s the unsung hero of my nail routine. A real one.

And don’t even get me started on FVEX’s latest Flex Tint drops. When I swatched them, I swear I ascended straight to nail girl heaven. Obsessed is an understatement. I’m spiritually bonded at this point.

"Rubber base has me in a chokehold” might be the most accurate thing ever said.

How’d you get here? What’s your journey? What makes you, YOU?!

Beelo: Oof. I still ask myself that sometimes. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I’d be working from home doing something I love this much. I’ve got a perfectly unused bachelor’s degree in public accounting, because once I became a mom, life pivoted hard.

Truth is, I’ve always been an artist at heart. But I chose the “safe and secure” path instead of following what really lit me up. (Pro tip: don’t do that. Seriously. If you love something, that’s where the success is.) Passion will push you to grow, to learn, to stay in student mode, and to keep getting better. It’s not luck—it’s time, energy, and heart.

For a while, I poured everything into my husband and our three amazing kids. For years, I told myself, maybe it’s just not my time yet. But when the moment came, I grabbed it and ran, my husband right beside me, cheering me on every step of the way. Helping me figure out my lighting and setting me up in my own office space.

I dove headfirst into learning everything (filming, editing, lighting) and poured myself into creating content I was proud of.

It’s been a wild ride powered by vibes, growth, and a whole lot of hustle. And I wouldn’t have it any other way.

What pulls you out of a creative rut?

Beelo: Sometimes the best thing I can do is just step away for the day. Forcing creativity never works for me, so I give myself a little space and scroll through some of my favorite creators, not just in nails, but across all kinds of niches. Seeing how others express themselves always sparks something fresh.

And when I’m ready to come back, I’ll usually go through a list of random ideas I’ve saved... things that came to me in the middle of the night or totally out of nowhere. There’s always a gem in there that helps get me back into the flow.

Anything on repeat these days?

Beelo: Definitely. Lately, it’s been nonstop trips to Dutch Bros and my Classic Spanish Rock playlist on full blast. That combo has been setting the vibe for my entire summer. Good energy, good coffee, and music that hits right in the soul.

Talk to us about your creative process...

Beelo: Honestly, I usually go in without a plan unless there’s a trend I’ve been really wanting to try. Most of the time, I just grab my supplies and wing it. I follow the mood I’m in and let the design unfold naturally. Maybe one day I’ll become the type to sketch things out in advance… but for now, I genuinely enjoy the freedom of just going with the flow.

I’m a DIYer at heart, and doing my own nails is a form of self-care. It’s my “me time,” and I try to keep it pressure-free. What pushes me over the finish line is that feeling of creating something that feels good, something that reflects my vibe in the moment. That’s what keeps it fun and fulfilling.

You wake up tomorrow as a mythical creature. What do you hope you are? Why?!

Beelo: Instantly? An alebrije. I know they’re not your typical mythical creature, but they hold deep meaning in Mexican culture and the spiritual world, and that’s something I feel deeply connected to. The idea of guiding souls, honoring those who came before us, and carrying that kind of ancestral energy? I’m all in.

Plus, let’s be real—the vibrant colors, wild patterns, and beautifully intricate designs? That’s me to a tee.

“Alebrije” as your mythical creature? We need a moment busting out our lighters for this absolute Queen

Give us your color combo of the moment!

Beelo: Brown paired with any vibrant pop and a touch of gold or mixed metals is everything to me right now. If I had to get specific, brown with a bold royal blue or a spicy chile red? Absolute chef’s kiss. It’s giving rich, moody, and modern all at once.

Who is your Dream client?

Beelo: I’m not a nail tech, so doing other people’s nails honestly gives me a bit of anxiety unless it’s just for fun with family. BUT… if Pedro Pascal ever let me do his nails? I would absolutely die and come right back to life.

Actually, if he just complimented my nails, I’d probably have the exact same reaction. So yeah, Pedro, if you’re out there… come look at my nails.

When you were a kiddo, what did you want to be when you grew up?

Beelo: I wanted so badly to be a teacher. I looked up to mine so much growing up. There was something so powerful about the way they inspired, guided, and made learning feel like magic. As a kid who was always eager to learn, I dreamed of doing the same… making an impact and giving back in a way that really mattered.

Funny enough, that part of me never really went away. Now, through creating content and sharing tutorials, I still get to teach, just in a different way. Whether it’s helping someone master a new nail technique or giving them the confidence to try it themselves, I get to share what I love and still make that impact. And that’s been the most rewarding part of all.

Give us your top 4 Nail Trends or Styles that you're into rn!

Beelo: Cat eye and iridescent chrome combos are absolutely Mom & Pop right now. I can’t get enough. That velvety shift with a chrome glow? Unreal.

I’m also completely obsessed with isolated textured chromes. They add just the right amount of edge and dimension. When in doubt, always add chrome. And florals? Always. Especially when they’re layered with texture or a soft shimmer. They’ve got me in a full-on creative chokehold.

Any advice for beginners in their craft?

Beelo: Give yourself the time to learn, and never stop growing. There’s always room to improve—whether it’s your technique, your content, or just getting more confident doing your own nails at home. Stay curious, stay consistent, and remember: progress doesn’t have to be perfect. The most important thing is to just keep going.

Progress doesn’t have to be perfect. Pin that. Print it. Live by it.

That's a freaking wrap!

Oh hey, sorry, we’re still thinking about the spicy chile red color combo!!

From sneaking polish as a kid to building a full-blown creative career between mom life, Dutch Bros runs, and classic Spanish rock… Beelo is everythinggg we love about the DIY nail world: passionate, funny, deeply real, and always experimenting.

She’s out here building an office from scratch, winging bold chrome sets with zero fear, and somehow making Flex Tint look like it was made just for her.
